New York, baby

is dry compared to Fiji.
So I slept on the flight to LA, 11 hours. I woke up at LAX and cried a little. It was so different from Fiji, everyone in a rush and telliong me where to stand and what not to do. I had to go through costums and agriculture (again) and just got my connecting flight to NY. I slept another six hours on the plane. Got to my hostel about 1:30 AM and slept a few more hours. I'm now on 23rd and 7th after a hasty breakfast in the hostel at west 194th st.
I'm lucky. The sun is shining and it's a beautiful day. I'm wearing the warmest clothes I got: tights, two pair of sweat pants, two pair of socks, summer sneakers, a tank top, a long-sleaved t-shirt, a short-sleaved t-shirt, a hoody and a zip sweater, a scarf and a hat. I need to find a pair of shoes and a coat. Lotta will arrive later this afternoon, as will Sussi. I'm looking forward to that. All I need now is to soak myself in oil before I crack from all this dry air. Man, my skin feeld too small.
But the New Yorkers seem to like it. Everyone is so nice to me. Must be the tan;)

LAX makes people cry. The only thing that kept us from crying when we had to go through the LA airport was knowing that they prey upon the weak and infirm when slagging off people from poorly connected flights... and we're even US citizens so we got to take the short customs line with the friendly agent to welcome us back.
