Back in Auckland

after a wonderful week in the Northland of New Zealand.
Graham and I drove up through Leigh, Goat Island, Whangarei, Paihia, Opononi and back. We stayed in Paihia and took a two day cruise in the bay of Islands with a boat called the Rock. It was awsome and definately a highlight of this road trip. We did night kayaking and saw the stars and the southern cross and the fosforesence in the water. I saw three falling stars. Small ones. Not like ones I saw from the boat in the Great Barrier Reef, but still. We did some fishing from the boat. I caught two! We went snorkeling and picking mussels from a rock under water. I couldn't get any mussels, but I got some from the guys in the crew and I fed the fish with it while snorkeling. That was awsome.

What else can I tell y'all?
Oh yes. We met Morgan on the cruise. She's from North Carolina and she joined us on the road trip down from Paihia to Auckland, which is where we are now. I' m getting more relaxed with my english and I've totally forgotten how it feels like to speak Swedish. I have developed my very own accent, which is a mix of all these diferent accents, accept Swedish. So there you go. I changfe my accent everytime I talk to new people. I now have a South African/North Carolina thing going on. What y'all think bout that?

How cool is that for a road trip? Sweden - South Africa - North Carolina. In New Zealand. Wow, to use one of Graham's favourite words.

We had some fresh seafood, right from the sea. It was cool. I never eaten mussels like that before. Raw, like.

I saw the sunrise from the boat.

So much more to tell you. Will have to sit down after dinner and sort things out along with the pictures. I'm heading to Cousin Carol's now. She told me the kids are waiting for me and that they want to see me again. Poppy and Scott, that is. Cool.

We wanted to go skydiving. That was the only thing I had planned to do in NZ. But the weather was crap, and they kept cancelling our jump. When we got back from the boat trip yesterday the sun was shining. I asked if they were skydiving? Yes. So we bluebirded out to Kerikeri and jumped out of a plane at 12 000 ft. That was so cool! Nothing compares to it. Even Morgan was exited, even though she wasn't jumping. I even got to fly the plane over the Bay of Islands. I went crazy and made us all sick. I got a dvd of it. I'll watch it and see if I'll put it on my blog.
I was still wearing my bikini from the boat trip during the jump, so I pretty much flashed my ass to the whole Bay of Islands and city of Paihia. Hey. i was wearing a little skirt too, but that was around my waiste and not where it should be... The guy who made the dvd said: oops. and then he said: thank you so much. oh. and the music is a New Zealand band.

We got lost last night and I'll wright all about that later. Man. That was an adventure. Luckily we had our I-pods going on through the radio. Music is good in moments like that. I bought an fm-transmitter with which you are able to listen to any mp3-player through any radio. I never saw anything like that before, but it's come in very handy on all these road trips, I must say.

Last week in January is Australia weekend, and Bill and his friend Henry (with whom we spent New Years) and some other friends of theirs are going diving. I really wanna join them, but I have to figure out how I am doing with money. I'll do that from a secure internet, like tonight, from Carol's place.

My hair is full of salt. My skin is burning from the sand, and my Havaianas are full of sand. Life is wonderful.

(sorry about all the weird spelling. I feel dizzy.)
